PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The ALABAMA TOMBIGBEE
REGIONAL COMMISSION is applying to the Alabama Department
of Transportation for an administration, planning, and capital assistance grant under 49 U.S.C.
Section 5311 of the federal Transit
Laws, as codified. The operating
grant will provide financial assistance for public transportation service for the residents of Clarke,
Conecuh, Monroe and Wilcox
Counties during FY-2018. The
service currently operates Monday-
Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm.All; residents, including wheelchair users,
must schedule service 24 hours in
advance. Fares are $ 2.50 per one
way (intercity up to five miles) and
$.87 per miles thereafter. No service changes are planned.
The capital grant will also provide financial assistance to purchase one (1) wheelchair lift
equipped modified van for public
transportation service during FY-
2019. ATRC also receive funding
for Job Access Reverse Commute
program which allows welfare recipients and eligible low income individuals to be transported to and
from jobs and activities related to
their employment.
