John “Bert” Bertram Moore, 55, of Orange Beach passed away Nov. 1, 2017.

Mr. Moore was born Nov. 3, 1961 to John Coleman and Mary Moore. He was a native of Clarke County and resident of Orange Beach. He was a member of the Fulton Baptist Church. Mr. Moore enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1981 where he served for four years before transferring to the National Guard where he served until being honorably discharged as Company Commander in 2002. He attended the University of South Alabama where he studied Criminal Justice and Sociology. He had also worked for the Wildlife and Game Office as well as having been an investigator for the Clarke County D.A.’s office.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon W. Moore, Orange Beach; parents; children, John F. (Chelsea) Moore, Gosport and Jennifer M. (Brian) Stephani, Milton, Fla.; step-children, Seana Salter, Michael (Olivia) Weaver, Brenda Weaver, Meagan (Adam) Lovell; grandchildren, Gracie Stephani, Max Stephani, Piper Moore; step-grandchildren, Syrus Jones, Sydney Jones, Andrew Weaver, Emma Weaver and Madison Weaver; sister, Suellen Moore (Mike) Good, Auburn.

The service was Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill. Interment followed in the Gosport Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Brad Larrimore Sr., Brad Larrimore Jr., Cal Mullins, Derrill Larrimore, Adam Lovell, Brendan Weaver, Chad Larrimore and Mike Good.
