Zack “Jerry” Pugh Jr., 56, was born to the late Zack and Lela Pugh on May 16, 1961. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Pine Chapel Baptist Church No. 2 in Toddtown, under the leadership of Pastor Frank B. Dean.

“Swing Low, Sweet Chariot - Stop and Let Me Ride,” Zack made his final ride into the heavenly gates on Nov. 21, 2017.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Susan Mae Bogle, Margie Pride and Jessie Mae Pugh; and brothers, Roy Pugh and Charlie Pugh.

Zack had a love of family and friends, and the Alabama Football team was his joy, ‘Roll Tide’. He often traveled to be with family and friends, his travels landing him in Miami, Fla., for more than 18 years. He was a dedicated employee for Refra-Chem & Industrial Services for many years. Zack was an encourager and a motivator to so many people he met. We will all remember his favorite quotes: “Do anybody love anybody, do anybody really care” and “Everything that matters ——Matters.”

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving son, Dustin Pugh of Toddtown; three grandchildren, Aniyah Williams, Savannah Pugh and Zayden Hemingburg; devoted sister, Annie Mae Johnson; one brother, Jerry Pugh, both of Toddtown; two sisters-in-law, Shellie Pugh of Toddtown and Eula Dee Pugh of Coffeeville; long-time devoted friend, Ideta Dore Green; many other friends, nieces, nephews and family members who loved Zack to share his wisdom and knowledge.

The service was Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. at Pine Chapel No. 2 in Toddtown. Interment was in the Pine Chapel No. 2 Church Cemetery with Rev. Allen Barnes as pastor and Elder Robert Smith officiating.
