Jackie Collins, 61, of Grove Hill passed away Jan. 23, 2018 at Washington County Hospital.

He was born in Moundville on Jan. 26, 1956 to Gurtha Jack Collins and Lillian Roney.

He loved his family and they were his world. He was employed as a dairy delivery man and enjoyed repairing automobiles. He also enjoyed the time he spent umpiring baseball and softball games.

Survivors include his wife, Molly Collins; children Wayne (Jennifer “Satchel Britches” Roney, Erica Allday, Davette (Josh Kline “Gomer”) Collins, David (Criston “MooMoo”) Collins; sisters, Deborah Ready, Alice Collins; grandchildren, Paige Allday, Nathan Allday, Dawson Hyde, Samuel “Sandal” Collins, Bridgette “Motor Scooter” Kline and Avery “Sweet Pea” Roney and nieces and nephews, Kevin Ready, Jacob (Victoria) Ready, LaDonnica Jowers, Mark Jowers, Yolonda “Pootie” Allen, Makayla, Jake Turner, Stephanie “Frosty” Turner, Tyler Sellers, Megan “Lard Butt” Sellers, Jazmyne, Matthew and Audrey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Beverly Jean Roney-Collins and brother, Larry Hobson.

The service was Jan. 27 at 3 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with Revs. Donny Morgan and Bob Younge officiating. Interment was in the Magnolia Lawn Cemetery in Grove Hill.

Active pallbearers were Jeff West, Danny Shaper, Bo Roney, Jake Turner, Dewayne Byrd and E.J. Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Roney and Frank Alexander.
