Cleo Barnes Pressley, 77, answered the Master’s call while at her McIntosh home, surrounded by her family on Jan. 27, 2018.

She was born Sept. 30, 1940 to Norman and Mayola Arch Barnes. She was a faithful member of the McIntosh Church of God Pentecostal where she served on the Mother Board. She was very actively involved with the Youth Department, assisting with the Youth Choir and leading a youth outreach ministry in the community. She traveled throughout the community trying to help in whatever way she could. She was known as the “Community Watch Lady.”

Left to cherish her memories are her devoted family, including her daughter, Sandra (Izell) Davis, Malcom; two sons, Charles (Sharon Johnston) Pressley Jr., McIntosh, Norman ( Jessica) Pressley, Mobile; sister, Norma Harris, McIntosh; four brothers, Wesley (Chesteen) Barnes, Walker ( Joannee) Barnes, Walter Lee (Anna Pearl) Barnes Sr. and her twin Cleveland ( Jacqueline Wimberly) Barnes, all of McIntosh; god-daughter, Shakeia Barnes, Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved and caring husband of 52 years, Charles Pressley, who passed away Dec. 1, 2017.

The service will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 3 with viewing from 9 until the 11 a.m. homegoing service at McIntosh Church of God Pentecostal, 4260 Highway 43 North in McIntosh, with Bishop Bobby E. Powe, pastor, as officiating minister. Interment will follow in the McIntosh Church of God Pentecostal Cemetery.
